Gary Lineker has slammed David Moyes' decision to send Mark Playing Penalty

Moyes wrong to bring Noble on just to take a penalty?

England legend, Gary Lineker has slammed David Moyes' decision to send Mark Noble on to take a last-gasp penalty, which he missed as West Ham fell to a dramatic 2-1 defeat against Manchester United.

Penalty specialist Noble, a 34-year-old lifelong Hammer - in his final season at the club - saw his effort bound for the bottom left-hand corner pushed away superbly by David de Gea.

Meanwhile, West Ham coach, David Moyes has insisted he had no regrets after his decision to bring on Mark Noble to take an added-time penalty backfired.

Not whether Noble is a great penalty taker, it's bringing him at the last kick to come take penalty without touching the ball, The tension are always much in such scenario. He should have learnt from England Euro shootouts where Southgate brought 2 players at tail end to come take penalty and we all know the outcome. Playing penalty pressure is far different from saving penalty pressure.

I have read most of the comments all I see is an organized crime to shy away from the truth. England and West Ham knew what they are doing. That was a clear match fixing and open disgrace to English football. The guy was brought in to take the penalty knew what he did. Before he took the penalty I knew he's going to miss to keep Man utd on course. If that match was fixed as draw that guy would score. Always call a spade a spade.

I don't think the coach is wrong, Noble is their penalty taker, and he was brought on to do that, this pundits that sit down there to criticize players,if they are given chance will they do better? Gary Neville is a pundit that criticize players, what was the outcome when he became Valencia coach. Sitting down there and talk is not as easy as being on the field. He isn't wrong to bring in Noble.

When Kepa was brought in versus Villarreal and he made some good saves, everyone was calling Tuchel a tactical genius, but if it had backfired, these same people will be the ones criticizing him. Just as Lingard was brought on against Young boys and he made an awful back pass that cost United the game, everyone turned against Ole, calling him all sorts of names, but the same Lingard was brought into the game yesterday and he won the match for United in the dying minutes.
Managers make substitutions that they feel will yield a positive result, and it’s always according to the plans they have before the game, and if these substitutes don’t go as planned, don’t charge at them, because it’s the same lips you’ll use to praise them if it worked out.
